The app ReadySetRead aims to enhance early reading skills through a comprehensive set of over 100 interactive lessons. These lessons are designed to help readers effectively connect sounds with the corresponding letter patterns in words. Students are exposed to a diverse vocabulary, engaging with the letters and sounds in more than 500 different words. Each lesson incorporates three types of word activities: Build-A-Word, Word Chain, and Sentence Scramble, culminating in contextual applications within one of the app's 24 original and engaging stories.

The instructional approach of ReadySetRead is rooted in the evidence-based methodology outlined by the Targeted Reading Intervention program from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This ensures that the curriculum is both structured and effective in promoting reading proficiency.

Additionally, the app features a dedicated Parent's section that offers detailed insights into the various activities available within the app. This section provides parents with a clear overview of the teaching methodology, including references for further exploration. Parents can also track their child's progress through the lessons as well as their performance across specific sounds, lessons, and activities. Notably, ReadySetRead accommodates families with multiple children learning to read, allowing each child to have their own individualized progress and performance tracking.
